Coil, Ignition: Removal: 3.2L
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Lift the engine cover from the retaining grommets from the ball studs (2) and remove the engine cover (1).
- If removing the ignition coils from cylinders 1, 3 or 5 on the right side of the engine. Remove the air intake resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
- If removing the ignition coils from cylinders 2, 4 or 6 on the left side of the engine. Remove the upper intake manifold and insulator. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL
.NOTE:
The left side ignition coils are shown, the right side ignition coils are similar.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the ignition coil (2).
- Remove the ignition coil retaining bolt (3).
- Pull the ignition coil (2) from cylinder head cover opening with a slight twisting action.
