Coil, Ignition: Removal: 2.4L

NOTE:

Prior to removing the ignition coil, spray compressed air around the coil top to make sure no dirt drops into the spark plug tube.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (2) from ignition coils.
  4. Loosen the captured ignition coil mounting bolts (1).
  5. Pull the ignition coil (3) from cylinder head cover opening with a slight twisting action.
