Sensor, Oxygen: Installation: 3.2L: Front
- If reinstalling the original Oxygen (O2) sensor, coat the sensor threads with an anti-seize compound such as Loctite 771- 64 or equivalent. New sensors have compound on the threads and do not require an additional coating. Do Not add any additional anti-seize compound to the threads of a new oxygen sensor. CAUTION:
Never apply any type of grease to the oxygen sensor electrical connector, or attempt any repair of the sensor wiring harness.
- Install the O2 sensor (3). Tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the O2 sensor wire harness connector (2).
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the upper O2 sensor (2). Tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the O2 sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
