REMOVAL

| 2 - Electric Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS) Pump Wire Harness Connectors |
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to 2.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM or 2.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM or 2.0L, 12-VOLT BATTERY DISCONNECT/CONNECT - PHEV or 3.0L, BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM or 3.6L, BATTERY DISCONNECT - DUAL 12 VOLT BATTERY SYSTEM or 3.6L, HYBRID, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM or 6.4L, BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - SINGLE 12V BATTERY SYSTEM .
- Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to 2.0L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or 2.0L, HYBRID, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or 3.0L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or 3.6L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or 6.4L, BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the two Electric Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS) pump wire harness connectors and remove the wiring harness routing clips from the EHPS pump.
- With the hose clamp released disconnect the supply line from the EHPS pump and secure the hose end higher than the power steering pump reservoir.
1 - Pump 2 - EHPS Pump Frame Bracket Upper Bolts 3 - Pump Pressure Line Bolt 4 - Pressure Line - Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the right front wheel house splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the EHPS pump pressure line bolt and remove the EHPS pressure line from the EHPS pump.
- Loosen the EHPS pump frame bracket upper bolts.
1 - Supply Line 2 - Wire Harness Routing Clip 3 - Return Line 4 - Wire Harness Routing Clip - With the hose clamp released disconnect the return line from the EHPS pump.
1 - EHPS Pump Bracket Nuts 2 - Pump - Remove the EHPS pump from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Refill the power steering fluid and bleed the system. Refer to POWER STEERING SYSTEM BLEEDING .
