With Display Screen Module (DSM)

NOTE:

If installing a new radio, record the serial number from the back of the radio to obtain the security code to unlock the radio.

  1. If separated, position the Radio Receiver Module (RRM) bracket (2) to the RRM (3) and install the fasteners (1). Tighten the fasteners securely.
  2. Position the Radio Receiver Module (RRM) near the instrument panel.

  3. Connect the antennas (2) and wire harness connector (1).
  4. If equipped, connect the USB connectors (3).

  5. Insert the top of the RRM (2) into the cavity of the instrument panel and swing the lower portion inward to seat the RRM (2) and bracket (1) to the instrument panel.

  6. Install the fasteners (1) securing the RRM (3) and RRM bracket (2) to the instrument panel. Tighten the fasteners securely.
  7. Install the instrument panel center bezel. Refer to BEZEL, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, INSTALLATION .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  9. Turn the ignition to the ON position for two minutes. During this cycle you may notice the RRM screen wallpaper (background of display image) to display non-vehicle specific images, a radio locked screen, or you may get a possible pending EQ mismatch fault. These will be corrected on the 2nd ignition cycle.
  10. Allow the RRM to go fully asleep (CAN bus off), then perform a 2nd ignition cycle.
    NOTE:

    Uconnect Access Applications and WiFi hotspot will be automatically updated in the replacement RRM through the RRM's embedded cellular phone based on the customers present subscription status. This update process may take up to an hour, depending upon the number of apps and adequate cellular services accessibility. The dealer is not expected to perform this process or to oversee it, but may need to explain to the vehicle owner or operator that some features and applications may not be fully restored and overall system response may be slowed until the process has completed.

    NOTE:

    For RA3 RRM only: If the RRM has had the Navigation feature activated, any factory replacement RRM for the same vehicle will be provided with the Navigation system already activated. Refer to the Navigation/Telecommunication information. Refer to DESCRIPTION for more information.
