Sensor, Intrusion Module: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the overhead console from the headliner. Refer to CONSOLE, OVERHEAD, FRONT, REMOVAL .
  3. Disconnect the intrusion sensor pigtail wire harness connector (1) from the Intrusion Transceiver Module (ITM) (2) on the overhead console housing.
  4. Remove the ITM from the overhead console housing and set aside. Refer to MODULE, INTRUSION, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the intrusion sensors (1) from the receptacles in the overhead console one at a time. Grasp a sensor firmly and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to disengage it from the rearward-facing receptacle on either side of the overhead console housing. Repeat for the sensor on the opposite side of the overhead console.
  6. Remove both sensors and the pigtail wire harness from the overhead console as a unit.
