Removal And Installation: Driver

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT or BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT . Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before continuing service.
2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

   2 - Driver Knee Airbag

3. Remove the bolts and remove the driver knee airbag.

   1 - Wire Harness Connector

   2 - Driver Knee Airbag

4. Disconnect the wire harness connector for the driver knee airbag.

INSTALLATION

1. Connect the wire harness connector for the driver knee airbag.
2. Position the driver knee airbag and bracket, tighten the bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
3. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Do not connect the negative battery cable at this time. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Verification Test procedure should be performed following service of any SRS component. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  .
