Enabling/Set Conditions And Possible Causes - RDM System Performance Faults

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Chrysler Voyager and 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

IMPORTANT DTC DESCRIPTION INFORMATION:  The DTC descriptions with T-CASE MOTOR and T-CASE CLUTCH PRESSOR SENSOR called out are used for the REAR DRIVE MODULE HYDRAULIC PUMP and PRESSURE SENSOR on this system.

RDM SYSTEM PERFORMANCE FAULTS - ENABLING CONDITIONS AND FAULT SETTING CRITERIA:  The RDM system faults have these shared Monitoring Conditions:

FAULT SETTING CRITERIA
(C1415-92 - Performance Fault - hydraulic pump performance)  Any of the following conditions are true:
  • Condition 1: Voltage on RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor circuits is greater than 3.0 volts with the motor being commanded and the calculated torque applied is less than 100 Nm for 15 seconds.
  • Condition 2: Current on RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor is more than 1.0 amps with the motor not commanded to operate.
  • Condition 3: Current on RDM Hydraulic Pump Motor is less than a calibrated threshold with the motor being commanded to operate.
(C1440-64 - Performance Fault - pressure sensor performance)  One of the following conditions is true:
  • With the hydraulic pump commanded off for more than 5.0 seconds, the pressure sensor signal is indicating a pressure of more than 100ka (14.5 psi).
  • Too Large Torque Error Detection: The difference between the torque command and the estimated torque from pressure sensor reading is larger than 200Nm for more than 15.0 seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES - PERFORMANCE FAULTS
HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL LOW - LEAKING
HIGH RESISTANCE IN THE PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT
HIGH RESISTANCE IN THE PRESSURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
MOTOR A CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
MOTOR B CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
FAULTY PRESSURE SENSOR
FAULTY HYDRAULIC PUMP
FAULTY DRIVETRAIN CONTROL MODULE (DTCM)
