Description And Operation: Notes
DESCRIPTION
The following are some of the components that make up the power window system:
| 1. | Refer to POWER WINDOW MOTOR - One for each door. |
| 2. | Refer to POWER WINDOW SWITCH - Front and Rear. |
The power window system allows each of the door windows to be raised and lowered electrically by actuating a switch on the instrument panel center bezel, or on the rear bezel of the center floor console. A master switch on the instrument panel allows the driver to raise or lower each of the passenger door windows and to lock out the individual switches on the passenger doors from operation. The power window system receives battery feed through a circuit breaker, only when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
The power window system includes the power window switches, the circuit breaker, and the power window motors inside each door. The power switches are similar in design and function, and are serviced in similar manners. The power motors are similar as well and can be serviced separately from the window regulators.
The front power window switches feature manual window operation and express window operation. The rear window switches are manual window operation only.
