Theory Of Operation

NOTE:

Starting June 7, 2021, the tire pressure monitoring functions were incorporated into the Radio Frequency Hub (RFH) Module and the TPM module was converted to a module that allowed Controller Area Network (CAN) functions only, no TPM functions.

The Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor actively monitors the air pressure, air temperature inside the tire, and the internal battery status. Each sensor has a unique ID code. The TPM Sensor transmits the data at regular intervals via an encoded signal to a receiver circuit located in the Radio Frequency Hub (RF Hub) Module.

The TPM sensor signal is sent from the sensor to the Remote Start Antenna (if equipped). On vehicles without remote start, the signal is sent to the RF Hub internal RKE antenna.
