In vehicles equipped with the optional PEKG system, an active VTA alarm can be disarmed if a valid key fob is present inside the vehicle and the KIN transitions from OFF to RUN. If a valid key fob is not detected by the RFH and communicated by the RFH to the BCM, the alarm will continue to be active.

In vehicles not equipped with the optional PEKG system, an active VTA alarm can be disarmed if a valid key fob is used to transition the ignition state from OFF to RUN. If a valid key fob is not detected by the RFH and communicated to the BCM, the alarm will continue to be active.
