Remote Start Inhibitor

REMOTE START INHIBITOR

Refer to COMPONENT INDEX .

Coolant Temperature Sensor - Used to verify that the engine coolant temperature is within an acceptable range for engine operation.

Ajar Switches - Used to indicate if any vehicle access points on the vehicle or opened or closed. Outputs to the BCM. Challenged by the RFH.

Fuel Level Sensor and Fuel Pump Control Module - Signalled by the PCM to drive the fuel pump to support engine starting if a sufficient amount of fuel is detected.

ESL - An added layer of security that locks the column.

Hazard Switch - The hazard switch needs to be in the OFF position.

Ignition State - The ignition needs to be in the OFF state.

IBS:

LF Antennas - Used in validation of the key fob being preset during start request.

Oil Pressure Sensor - Used to determine that the engine has an acceptable oil pressure range prior to starting the engine.

Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) - Used to indicate the position of the gear shift lever.

Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) - Used to verify the vehicle is not moving.

Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) or Intrusion Detection System (IDS) - Signal sent indicating the status of the VTA or the IDS system. An active VTA or IDS state will disable the remote start function.
