Removal And Installation: Fwd: Installation

- Position the steering gear to the sub cradle then install the steering gear to sub cradle fasteners (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the bracket (2) and tighten the bracket fasteners (1).
- Install the dash seal to steering gear fasteners (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.NOTE:
Apply medium strength threadlocker to the studs before installing fasteners.
- Position the heat shield (2) to the steering gear and install the heat shield to steering gear fasteners (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the front cradle. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, FRONT SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install exhaust crossunder pipe. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST CROSSUNDER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Tighten the trans mount fastener to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Install both outer tie rod stud to the knuckle and install both outer tie rod to knuckle fasteners (3) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Install the dash seal to dash panel fasteners (2) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.NOTE:
Apply medium strength threadlocker to the fasteners.
- Install a NEW steering shaft to steering gear pinch fastener (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the supports and lower vehicle.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Perform a wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Perform the Electric Power Steering (EPS) verification test. Refer to EPS VERIFICATION TEST .
