Removal And Installation: Removal

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the gap hider. Refer to GAP HIDER, STEERING COLUMN SHROUD, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Remove the lower steering column pinch bolt (1) DISCARD pinch bolt.
Do not start to remove (or break free) Pinch Bolt with an impact wrench/gun.
- Remove the wire retainer (2) from the steering column.
- Remove the steering column nuts (1).
- Remove the steering column assembly.
