Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the PTU on the transmission.

  2. Install the fasteners (1) retaining the PTU. Tighten to proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Install the fasteners (1) retaining the PTU. Tighten to proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Connect the PTU actuator wire harness connector (1).

  5. Place the rear torque strut bracket and install the fasteners (1). Tighten to proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  6. Install the rear torque strut bracket fastener (1). Tighten to proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the rear engine mount isolator. Refer to INSULATOR, ENGINE MOUNT, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install a NEW  retention ring on the output shaft of the PTU. Lightly grease the splines of the output shaft.

  9. Install the driveshaft (1) to the PTU.
  10. Remove the support stand and lower the drivetrain in position.

  11. Install the rear torque strut fastener (1) at the transmission. Tighten to proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  12. Place the PTU lower heatshield into position and install the fasteners (1). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  13. Place the PTU upper heatshield into position and install the fasteners (1). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  14. Install the fasteners (1). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  15. Install the right catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  16. Install the exhaust crossunder pipe. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST CROSSUNDER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  17. Place the PTU bracket (2) to the engine, install the fasteners (1). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  18. Install the fasteners (1). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  19. Install the right side front halfshaft. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  20. Install the engine belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  21. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  22. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
