Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

The front wiper linkage module includes the front wiper motor.

  1. Position the front wiper linkage module (5) to the cowl plenum as a unit.
  2. Engage the rubber locator (4) with the wiper module locator bracket (3) on the cowl plenum. Be certain the rubber locator is securely engaged with the bracket.
  3. Align the rubber insulators for the module bracket to the cowl plenum and install the two screws (1) that secure the module bracket to the cowl plenum. Tighten the screws to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    NOTE:

    Tighten the outboard (left) 4-way screw first.

  4. Connect the engine compartment wire harness connector (2) to the connector receptacle for the front wiper motor (5).
  5. Install the cowl plenum cover/grille panel over the front wiper linkage module. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
    NOTE:

    Be certain to turn the ignition switch to the ON position, then turn the front wiper switch ON and OFF again to cycle the wiper motor and linkage to their natural park position before installing the front wiper arms on the wiper pivots.

  6. Install both front wiper arms on the wiper pivots. Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
