Sentry Key Immobilizer System Initialization
The Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS) must be initialized following the service replacement of a Body Control Module (BCM), a Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM) or a Powertrain Control Module (PCM). SKIS initialization requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool. Initialization will also require that you have security access and a temporary authorization PIN code. The PIN code MUST be used to enter the Secured Access Mode. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
If the BCM is replaced in a vehicle equipped with the SKIS, the unique Secret Key data must be transferred from the RFHM to the new BCM using the appropriate programming procedure. This procedure also requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool connected to the FCA server to enter the Secured Access Mode in the RFHM.
If the PCM is replaced in a vehicle equipped with the SKIS, the unique Secret Key data must be transferred from the BCM to the new PCM using the appropriate programming procedure. This procedure also requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool connected to the FCA server to enter the Secured Access Mode in the BCM.
