Blind Spot Detection System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Chrysler Voyager and 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

In the event that a vehicle is brought in for service due to a customer complaint of "Blind spot alert unavailable - wipe rear bumper" being displayed on the cluster, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Verify that the rear bumper is clear of any obstructions. If there is any mud, ice or dirt on the rear bumper, please remove  .
  2. The process to clear the blockage message involves first cycling the ignition.
  3. The vehicle must be driven on the road and pass/be passed by vehicles on both the left and right sides.

After completing those steps, the blockage message will clear and the system will function as designed.

Also of note is if the Left or Right Blind Spot Sensor (LBSS or RBSS) is installed backwards the same message will appear. Graphic shown in illustration is of a properly installed sensor.
