EPB Verification Test

EPB VERIFICATION TEST 

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Remove all test equipment.
  3. Connect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
  4. Verify all accessories are turned off and the battery is fully charged.
  5. Verify that the ignition is on. With the scan tool, record and erase ABS DTC. Start the engine and allow it to run for two minutes.
  6. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
  7. Push the Electric Park Brake (EPB) Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
  8. Press and hold the brake pedal.
  9. Push the EPB Switch down to set the Electric Parking Brakes.
  10. Release the brake pedal.
  11. Turn the ignition off and wait ten seconds.
  12. Turn the ignition on.
  13. While pressing the brake pedal push the EPB Switch down to release the Electric Parking Brakes.
  14. Turn the ignition off and wait ten seconds. Turn the ignition on and using the scan tool, read the DTCs from all modules.
  15. If any DTCs are present, refer to the appropriate diagnostic information in the applicable article for the Diagnostic procedure and troubleshoot the new or recurring symptom.
  16. If there are no DTCs present and the customer's concern can no longer be duplicated, the repair is complete.

    Are any DTCs present or is the original concern still present?

    Yes 

    No 

    • Repair is complete.
