The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (1) and the Antilock Brake System (ABS) module used with this ABS are combined (integrated) into one unit, which is called the Integrated Control Unit (ICU).

The ICU is located in the engine compartment, mounted to a bracket that is attached to the right side rail through the use of isolation grommets.

The ABS with traction control ICU consists of the following components: the ABS module, eight (build/decay) solenoid valves (four inlet valves and four outlet valves), two traction control solenoid valves, two hydraulic shuttle valves, valve block, fluid accumulators, a pump, and an electric pump/motor.

The replaceable components of the ICU are the HCU and the ABS module. No attempt should be made to service any components of the HCU or ABS. For replacement of the ABS. Refer to MODULE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
