Electronic Shift Module (ESM) performs various internal tests to verify proper controller operation. This DTC indicates that there is a communication error between the Electronic Shift Module (ESM) and the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) on the E-PT CAN. The HCP is internally located in the Power Inverter Module (PIM) and is not serviced separately.
