Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
    2. Record the Environmental Data and any DTCs.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    5. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. ACTIVATE THE FRONT OR REAR (IF EQUIPPED) FOG LAMP SWITCH ON AND OFF 
    1. Activate the Front and Rear (if equipped) Fog Lamp Switch on and off.
    2. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    6. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go to  3

      No 

  3. CONFIGURE THE HEADLAMP SWITCH TO THE VEHICLE 
    1. With the scan tool, configure the Headlamp Switch to the vehicle.
    2. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    6. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Inspect the Headlamp Switch to make sure it is correct for the vehicle options. If the Headlamp Switch is not correct, replace the Headlamp Switch in accordance with the Service Information and repeat this step.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
