Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read ACC DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase ACC DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Start the engine.
- With the scan tool, read ACC DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR RELATED DTCS IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are any DTCs present in the BCM?
Yes
- Repair the BCM DTCs. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
- CHECK SPEED CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
- With the scan tool, read the Speed Control Switch status under the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) while pressing multiple switch positions.
Did the switch positions change correctly when viewed with the scan tool?
Yes
- Inspect the wiring and connectors between the SCCM and the Speed Control Switch and the output to the BCM for any possible problems. If no problems are found, replace and program the SCCM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Inspect the wiring and connectors between the SCCM and the Speed Control Switch. If no problems are found, replace the Speed Control Switch in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read the Speed Control Switch status under the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) while pressing multiple switch positions.
