CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC

NOTE:

For vehicle communication issues, use the scan tool Module Topology, which depicts a high level view of the vehicle networks. Modules without network communication will appear in red.

Turn the ignition on.
With a scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
Record the Environmental Data.
With a scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the DTC active?

Yes
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM ECU procedure for the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Perform the STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCs procedure. Refer to the appropriate information.
