Diagnostic Test

VERIFY ACTIVE DTC

NOTE:

Make sure the battery is fully charged.

NOTE:

Follow the ignition off warning, due to any special tools or body harness connectors that may need to be reconnected reintroducing voltage to a wire harness and component area.

WARNING:

Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Remove any special tools or jumper wires and reconnect all previously disconnected components - except the battery.
  2. Make sure the driver's seat is not occupied.
  3. If equipped with the keyless ignition, use this ignition on warning.
    NOTE:

Failure to follow the test instructions or aborting the test causes faults to set when performing the Scan tool Driver Presence Detection System Verification Test. To prevent faults due to process errors: verify that all tests steps that led you here were performed as directed, verify that the ignition is in run position. Only press scan tool buttons when directed to do so and perform the scan tool DPDM System Verification Test to completion.

  4. With the scan tool in Driver Presence Detection Module (DPDM), select the Miscellaneous Functions tab on the scan tool, select Empty Seat Value Relearn. Run the test by following the instructions displayed on the scan tool. When the test completes, wait two minutes and then proceed as follows.
  5. With the scan tool, read active DTCs.
    NOTE:

Active DTCs will cause the relearn procedure to fail.
