Pcm Programming

This procedure is required when one or more of the following situations are true:

This procedure assumes that the scan tool is properly configured to the dealership network with either a wired or wireless connection. For help on how to network the scan tool, use the "Help" tab at the top of the diagnostic application.

Programming Procedure  - Using the scan tool:

  1. Verify that the scan tool operating software is programmed with the latest software release.
  2. Flash the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
  3. From the "Home" screen, select "ECU View"
  4. Select "PCM"
  5. Select "Misc functions"
  6. Select "Check PCM VIN" and follow the on screen instructions. When complete, select "Finish".
  7. Navigate back to the home screen and select the Body Control Module (BCM).
  8. Select the "Misc Functions" menu.
  9. Run the "Immobilizer ECU Replace" routine.
  10. From the "Home" screen, select "ECU View"
  11. Navigate back to the home screen and select "PCM"
  12. Select "Misc functions"
  13. Select "Learn ETC" and follow the on screen instructions. When complete, select "Finish".
  14. Select "Check PCM Odometer" and follow the on screen instructions. When complete, select "Finish".
  15. For manual transmission equipped vehicles, select and perform the "Clutch pedal position sensor learn" and the "Learn Gear Shift Sensor" procedures.
  16. Perform the "Brake Pedal Learn" procedure as follows:
    1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
      NOTE:

      When performing the Brake Pedal Calibration Learn routine, make sure the brake pedal is NOT  pressed.

      NOTE:

      Not all PCMs support the Brake Pedal Learn. If the PCM supports it the routine will be available.

    2. With the scan tool, under the PCM "Miscellaneous Functions" menu, select and run the "Brake Pedal Learn" routine.
  17. Cycle the ignition to complete the programming.
NOTE:

Once the PCM process has been completed navigate back to the home screen and view "ALL DTCs", ensure that all DTCs that may have set are showing stored, if they are all stored select "Clear All Stored DTCs". Cycle the ignition to the off position and then back on and verify all DTCs are gone. At this point the process is complete.
