This procedure is required when one or more of the following situations are true:

This procedure assumes that the scan tool is properly configured to the dealership network with either a wired or wireless connection. For help on how to network the scan tool, use the "Help" tab at the top of the diagnostic application.

Programming Procedure  - Using the scan tool:

  1. Verify that the scan tool operating software is programmed with the latest software release.
  2. Flash the PCM
  3. Run the "Immobilizer ECU Replacement" from the Body Control Module (BCM) Misc. Functions menu.
  4. Run the "VIN Verification" from the PCM Misc. Functions menu.
  5. Run the "ECU Replacement with Value Transfer" from the PCM Misc. Functions menu.
    NOTE:

This can be run in two ways, with or without value transfer. With transfer is highly recommended  as the manual programming will take over 30 minutes to complete. Transferring the old information should always be used unless the old Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is not responsive. If the old ECU is not responsive, proceed to the step procedure below

  6. Perform the "Brake Pedal Learn" procedure as follows:
    1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
      NOTE:

When performing the Brake Pedal Calibration Learn routine, make sure the brake pedal is NOT  pressed.

      NOTE:

Not all PCMs support the Brake Pedal Learn. If the PCM supports it the routine will be available.

    2. With the scan tool, under the PCM "Miscellaneous Functions" menu, select and run the "Brake Pedal Learn" routine.
  7. Cycle the ignition to complete the programming.
