Module Programming

When replacing any Electronic Control Unit (ECU), refer to the IMMOBILIZER COMPONENTS AND REPLACEMENT GUIDE  . Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  1. Connect the scan tool to the vehicle and manually enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  2. Perform the

    "Restore Vehicle Configuration"

    routine located in Guided Diagnostics.

    NOTE:

You will not have the ability to turn the vehicle on at this time so the routine will be ran in the key OFF position. Topology will only show a yellow Body Control Module (BCM) and blue Security Gateway Module (SGW). All other ECUs will be grey at this time.

  3. After the Restore Vehicle Configuration routine you must remove the micro-pod and wait at least 60-90 seconds before reconnecting it to the vehicle. Once reconnected to the vehicle, the topology will populate.
  4. Navigate to the Radio Frequency Hub (RF-Hub) and run the "BCM Immobilizer Replace"  routine.
  5. After completing the BCM Immobilizer Replace routine, verify the vehicle starts and clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
NOTE:

If the BCM does not program, disconnect the battery, wait 15 seconds, reconnect the battery and run the BCM immobilizer replace routine again.
