Diagnostic Test

  1. READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN 
    1. This is an informational Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). The Driver Assistance System Module (DASM) communicates over the CAN Bus with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to increase engine speed when needed. If other DASM DTCs are present, perform their respective diagnostic procedures first.
      1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
      2. With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
      3. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
      4. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10 seconds.
      5. Turn the ignition on.
      6. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
      7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • No repair is necessary. Make sure the lens is free of dirt, damage, and other obstructions that would hinder the performance of the DASM imager lens. Clear the DTC and verify proper operation of the DASM.
      • Perform the DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM MODULE (DASM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM MODULE (DASM) VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK FOR DTCS SET IN OTHER MODULES 

    Check for: 

    • PCM DTCs present.
    • PCM improperly configured.
    • BCM DTCs present.
    • BCM improperly configured.
    • Implausible DTCs against the PCM.
    • Any Service Bulletins that may apply.

    Were any of the above conditions present?

    Yes 

    No
