Diagnostic Test
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- VERIFY COMMUNICATION WITH BCM
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the bus.
Does the scan tool show the BCM as active on the bus?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the No Response From BCM diagnostic procedure. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the bus.
- CHECK BCM FOR ACTIVE DTCS
- With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs and record on the repair order.
Are any active DTCs present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE VEHICLE CONFIGURATION INFORMATION WITH SCAN TOOL
- With the scan tool run an ECU Details Report, read the Original and Current VINs, and the Body Style of the vehicle.
Does the information displayed match the vehicle?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- With the scan tool run an ECU Details Report, read the Original and Current VINs, and the Body Style of the vehicle.
- PERFORM THE RESTORE VEHICLE CONFIGURATION ROUTINE
- With the scan tool, perform the Restore Vehicle Configuration routine.
- Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B222C-00-VEHICLE CONFIGURATION NOT PROGRAMMED as active?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION . If no problems are found, test complete.
