Diagnostic Test
- TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM CHECK
- Confirm the following before proceeding with this diagnostic test.
- Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply to this system.
- Verify the tire pressures are correct.
- Verify the TPM - RKE Analyzer Tool (special tool #2046300080, Kit, TPM/RKE ANALYZER) is at the most recent version available before proceeding. Do not assume that the Tool is at the most current version available. Use of a TPM-RKE Analyzer Tool with an out dated version will lead to incorrect diagnosis and part(s) replacement.
- Contact the TPM-RKE Analyzer Tool help desk for assistance with any repair or up dating concerns to the TPM-RKE Analyzer Tool.
Were the TPM system checks and TPM-RKE Analyzer tool version confirmed?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Complete all the TPM system checks listed and verify the TPM-RKE Analyzer tool version.
- Confirm the following before proceeding with this diagnostic test.
- READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN
- With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, run a vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
- Press the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
- Press the ignition on.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Verify the faulty TPM Sensor and replace the TPM Sensor with the ID that corresponds to the DTC in accordance with Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
No
- Perform the appropriate INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- Perform the TPM SENSOR VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Test Complete.
