Removal And Installation: 2.4L: Removal

NOTE:

LHD shown, RHD similar.

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  or BATTERY, SUPPLEMENTAL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. If equipped with Electric Stop/Start (ESS), remove the supplemental battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  or BATTERY, SUPPLEMENTAL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the nut (2a) and position the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) ground strap (2b) out of the way.
  4. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (1) from the PCM.

  5. Remove the bottom cover (1).
  6. Untie the washer fluid assembly (2).
  7. Open the wiring retaining clips (3).

  8. Remove the screws (1a) and remove the battery tray (1b) with the PCM attached.

  9. If necessary, remove the nuts (1a) and remove the PCM (1b) from battery tray.
  10. Verify that the battery tray is not damaged.
