Removal And Installation: Installation

Make sure the transmission is in the park position.
Position the shifter in the vehicle and hand start the bolts.
Tighten the shifter bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Connect the shifter wire harness connector.

Position the shifter cable (2) into the shifter housing.
Install the shifter cable end (1) on the shifter ball stud.

With the shifter in the Park position, push the shifter cable adjuster lock (1) down so that it is flush to the shifter cable.
Install the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
Verify shifter operation, and if necessary, adjust the shifter cable. Refer to CABLE, SHIFT, ADJUSTMENTS .
