Electronic Control Modules (Service Information): Radio: Description

There are three radio screen sizes and four Uconnect® packages available in this vehicle, Uconnect® 3 with 5 inch touchscreen display, Uconnect® 4 with 7 or 8.4 inch touchscreen display and Uconnect® 4 NAV or Uconnect® 4C NAV with 8.4 inch touchscreen display. Each radio has a distinct chassis design and is identified by a sales code.

Compass data for all models is generated by the radio.

The external radio controls are located in the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Module (2).

The Uconnect® 4 NAV and Uconnect® 4C NAV radios (1) includes the following features:

Uconnect® 4 naming convention is as follows:

4 4th Generation Capable of Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto
C Connected Built-in connected devices (embedded modem)
NAV Navigation Built-in Uconnect® Navigation (not mirrored from a smartphone)

Hardwired circuitry connects the radio to the electrical system of the vehicle. These hardwired circuits are integral to several wire harnesses, which route throughout the vehicle and are retained by many different methods. These circuits may be connected to each other and to the vehicle electrical system through the use of a combination of soldered splices, splice block connectors, and many different types of wire harness terminal connectors and insulators. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds. The radio cannot be adjusted or repaired. If the radio is damaged or ineffective, it must be replaced.
