Module, Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs): Removal

  1. To replace the Anti-lock Brake (ABS) module, the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) assembly must be removed. Refer to INTEGRATED CONTROL UNIT (ICU), REMOVAL .

  2. Remove the fasteners (1) attaching the ABS module (2) to the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU).

    CAUTION:

    When removing the Antilock Brake System (ABS) module from the HCU, be sure to completely separate the two components (approximately 38 mm (1.5 inches)) before removing the ABS. Otherwise, damage to the pressure sensor or pump motor connection may result, requiring HCU replacement. Do not to touch the sensor terminals on the HCU side or the contact pads on the ABS side as this may result in contamination and issues in the future.

  3. Separate the ABS module (1) from the HCU (2).
