Module, Keyless Ignition Node (Kin): Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Module. Refer to MODULE, INTEGRATED CENTER STACK (ICSM), REMOVAL .

  3. Reaching through the ICS module opening in the instrument panel, disconnect the harness connector (2) from the back of the Keyless Ignition Node (KIN) (3) and position the connector and wire harness out of the way.
  4. Reaching through the ICS module opening in the instrument panel, remove the fasteners (1) that retain the KIN bracket to the inside of the lower instrument trim panel.

  5. Remove the KIN (3) with bracket (1).

  6. Remove the fasteners (1) to separate the KIN (3) from the KIN bracket (2).
