Diagnostic Test

VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE 

1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
2. Ignition on, engine running.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on vehicle work order.
4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
5. With the scan tool, run the EPS Learn routine.
6. With the scan tool, graph the steering angle while slowly rotating steering wheel from stop to stop.
7. With the scan tool, read the EPS DTCs.

   Is the graph displaying any erratic behavior or is the DTC active at this time?

   Yes 

   • Replace the Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module in accordance with Service Information. Refer to GEAR, REMOVAL .
   • Perform the EPS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EPS VERIFICATION TEST  .

   No 

   • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
   • Perform the EPS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EPS VERIFICATION TEST  .
