Module, Security Gateway (SGW): Removal
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available).
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO, REMOVAL .NOTE:
The Security Gateway Module (SGW) (1) is mounted to the instrument panel on a bracket behind the radio and, if equipped, the Emergency Assistance Module (EAM).
- If equipped with an EAM, remove the EAM. Refer to MODULE, EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE (EAM), REMOVAL .
- Remove the fasteners (2) and disconnect the SGW wire harness connectors (3).
- Remove the module from the vehicle.
