Connector, Data Link (DLC): Operation

The Data Link Connector (DLC) socket receives a direct battery power supply from the line protected by a fuse located in the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse in the engine compartment junction unit. The BCM receives an ignition-operated power supply. This signal is used, among other things, to "wake up the network"

The DLC connection to the vehicle is protected by the Security Gateway Module (SGW) authentication requirements. Because of the SGW, the DLC will no longer be able to be used for Controller Area Network (CAN) bus network diagnosis.
