Pump, Water: Installation: 5.7L/6.4L

NOTE:

5.7L shown. 6.4L similar.

  1. Clean the mating surfaces and install the water pump (3). Tighten the mounting bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS GAS  .
  2. Install the upper metal heater tube.
  3. Install the belt tensioner assembly (4). Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, INSTALLATION, 5.7L/6.4L  .
  4. Install the idler pulley (5).
  5. Install the lower radiator hose.
  6. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION, 5.7L/6.4L  .
  7. Install the resonator mounting bracket.
  8. Install the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing (1).
  9. Install the air intake assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION, 5.7L or BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION, 6.4L .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Evacuate the air and refill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  12. Check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
