Wheel, Steering: Installation

CAUTION:
If the steering wheel is excessively off-center while driving, outside of Chassis specifications, inadvertent ESC activations may occur on a vehicle so equipped.
- Align the spline on the steering wheel hub to the column shaft, then install the steering wheel (1).NOTE:
A new steering wheel bolt (2) must be installed every time the bolt is removed.
- Install a NEW steering wheel bolt (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect all wire harness connectors (3).
- Install the driver airbag. Refer to AIR BAG, DRIVER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Test the operation of the horn, lights and any other functions that are steering column operated.
