Module, Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs): Installation

  1. Clean any debris off the mating surfaces of the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and the Antilock Brake System (ABS) module.
    NOTE:

    When installing a new ABS module seal, do not use any type of lubricant.

  2. If the seals (1) on the ABS module (2) are not new, replace them. The ABS module seals must be new to keep out moisture and debris; DO NOT REUSE THE ABS MODULE SEALS  .

  3. Align the components and install the ABS module (1) to the HCU (2).

  4. Install the ABS module to HCU mounting fasteners (3) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) to bracket fasteners and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Install the ICU. Refer to INTEGRATED CONTROL UNIT (ICU), INSTALLATION .
