Removal And Installation: LHD: Installation

  1. Position the steering gear to the frame rail with the bolt holes aligned.
  2. Install the four steering gear bolts (1) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    NOTE:

    The two long bolts go to the front and the two shorter bolts go to the rear.

  3. Connect the pitman arm to the steering gear. Refer to ARM, PITMAN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

  5. Connect the intermediate shaft to the steering gear. Refer to SHAFT, INTERMEDIATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the two power steering lines (2) and tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Fill the power steering system to the proper level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL CHECKING .
  9. Perform the wheel alignment procedure. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
