Module, Security Gateway (SGW): Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Chrysler 300 and 2019 Chrysler 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

If a NEW  Security Gateway (SGW) module is being installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the module. Failure to flash the module will leave the SGW module in a locked mode preventing SGW module operation.

  1. Position the SGW module to the mounting studs.
  2. Install the SGW module nuts and tighten the nuts securely.
  3. Connect the SGW module wire harness connectors.
  4. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  6. If a NEW  SGW module is installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the SGW module.
