Negative - Engine Compartment

  1. Position the battery negative cable in the engine compartment.
  2. Raise the vehicle on hoist.
  3. Install the fastener (1) securing the battery negative cable to the transmission housing. Tighten the bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. One at a time, install the battery cable retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips until the cable is installed exactly where it was in the vehicle.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

  6. Install the fastener (1) securing the battery negative cable to the right front strut tower. Tighten the bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  7. Connect the negative battery cable to the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) M8 stud (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Install the spare tire cover.
