2.0L Diesel: Installation

  1. Position the starter (1b) and spacer (7a) for installation, then install the upper and lower bolts (5a and 6a).
  2. Position the wire harness support bracket (4b) and install the starter bolt (4a).
  3. Tighten the three starter bolts to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Position the electrical connection (3a) to the starter, then install and securely tighten the nut.
  5. Position the electrical connections from the battery (2b) and generator (2c), then install and securely tighten the nut (2a).
  6. Iinstall the B+ electrical connection cover (1a).

  7. Position the PCM and bracket (1a), then install and securely tighten the nuts (1b) and screws (1c).
  8. Position the wire harness (2a) to the PCM bracket (1a) and engage the retaining clips (2b).
  9. Connect the PTU wire harness connector (3a), and then engage it to its support.
  10. Position the ground wire, then install and securely tighten the nut (4a).

  11. Position the particulate filter pressure sensor (1a) and bracket, then install and securely tighten the nuts (1b).
  12. Position the wire harness and engage the retaining clip (2a).
  13. Connect the PCM (3c) wire harness connectors (3a and 3b).
  14. Position the glow plug control unit (1a), then install and securely tighten the nuts (1b).
  15. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
