Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the intermediate shaft to the vehicle.
  2. Slide the intermediate shaft coupler over steering gear input shaft.
  3. Slide the intermediate shaft coupler over steering column output shaft.
  4. Install a NEW  intermediate shaft coupler lower pinch bolt (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to COLUMN, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install a NEW  intermediate shaft coupler upper pinch bolt (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to COLUMN, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - 2.0L and BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - 3.6L .
