Module, Emergency Assistance (EAM): Installation
- Position the Emergency Assistance Module (EAM) to the EAM mounting bracket.
- Install and tighten the four screws for the EAM. Tighten the screws securely.
- Connect the instrument panel wiring harness connectors and antenna connectors.
- Align the EAM bracket with the instrument panel slots and clip retainers. Gently but firmly press the bracket toward the front of the vehicle into place in the instrument panel. Be certain the retainer clips are fully seated in the instrument panel.
- Install the glovebox surround and glovebox. Refer to GLOVE BOX, INSTRUMENT PANEL, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Position the backup battery (2) to the EAM (1) and connect the positive battery connector first, then connect the negative battery connector.
- Gently insert the backup battery (2) into the EAM (1).
- Install the backup battery cover (3).
- Install the EAM into the vehicle. Refer to MODULE, EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE (EAM), INSTALLATION .
- Start the engine and check if "Service Required" indicator or message on the Instrumental Panel Cluster (IPC) turns off.
- Position the EAM speaker (1) to the driver side floor console side cover (3).
- Install and tighten the two screws (2) for the EAM. Tighten the screws securely.
- Connect the instrument panel wiring harness connectors.
- Install the driver side floor console side cover (2). Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
