Sensor, Intrusion Module: Description
The intrusion module sensors are ultrasonic transducers located in the overhead console on each side of the Intrusion Transceiver Module (ITM). Only the rearward-facing transmit and receive transducer membranes are visible within small round openings on the outboard rear corners of the overhead console trim cover within the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
The molded black plastic sensor housings are each secured by a bayonet-type connection to dedicated fittings integral to the inner surface of the overhead housing trim cover. Each sensor has a single two-wire pigtail harness that joins them both to a single connector that is connected to an integral connector receptacle of the ITM.
The intrusion module sensors cannot be adjusted or repaired and are serviced only as a pair. If either sensor is ineffective or damaged, both sensors and their pigtail wire harness must be replaced with a new unit.
