Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the left quarter trim panel. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the two Power Lift Gate Module (PLGM) wiring harness connectors (3).
  4. Depress the latch feature (1) of the PLGM housing and pull the PLGM (2) out and away from the body.
  5. Remove the PLGM (2) from the vehicle.
